Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Kirin 9050 Pro Benchmark Reveals CPU and GPU Specifications

Huawei has introduced four new smartphones in its Mate 90 series in China, with the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS positioned as the most powerful models in the lineup. Both devices are equipped with Huawei's latest Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, and a newly published Geekbench result provides more insight into its CPU and GPU configuration.

Although Huawei has not disclosed extensive technical details about the Kirin 9050 Pro in its official promotional material, the latest benchmark listing gives us a clearer picture of the processor's architecture and performance.

Kirin 9050 Pro Geekbench Performance

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max (CMM-AL10) recorded an average score of 1,317 points in the single-core test and 5,381 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 7.

The highest scores currently recorded for the device are 1,528 single-core points and 6,169 multi-core points.

Based on these results, the Kirin 9050 Pro's CPU performance appears to sit between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, introduced in 2021, and its successor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Actual performance can vary depending on software optimization, thermal conditions, and benchmark runs.

Kirin 9050 Pro CPU Configuration

Geekbench also provides details about the processor's core configuration. The Kirin 9050 Pro reportedly uses a nine-core CPU featuring a high-performance Prime core clocked at 3.1GHz.

The configuration includes:

  • 1× Prime "Ultra" core: 3.1GHz
  • 6× performance cores: 2.7GHz and 2.2GHz
  • 2× efficiency cores: 1.75GHz

This combination is designed to balance demanding workloads with power efficiency, although real-world battery life and sustained performance will depend on the overall device design and software optimization.

Maleoon 955 GPU Specifications

The Kirin 9050 Pro is also equipped with Huawei's Maleoon 955 GPU. According to the Geekbench information, the graphics processor features six cores clocked at 1.05GHz.

The GPU is expected to handle demanding graphics workloads on the Mate 90 Pro Max, including gaming, high-resolution multimedia, and other GPU-intensive applications.

Reported 7nm-Class Manufacturing Process

Additional information about the Kirin 9050 Pro's manufacturing process comes from a report by Bernstein Research. The report claims that the chipset is produced using a 7nm-class process based on SMIC's N+2 or N+3 process technology.

However, this manufacturing information has not been officially confirmed by Huawei. As a result, the reported process technology should be considered unconfirmed until Huawei or another authoritative source provides additional details.

Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Chipset Details

The latest Geekbench listing provides some of the clearest information so far about Huawei's Kirin 9050 Pro. With a nine-core CPU, clock speeds reaching 3.1GHz, and the six-core Maleoon 955 GPU, the chipset represents Huawei's latest effort to improve flagship smartphone performance.

More detailed information about its architecture, power efficiency, graphics performance, and manufacturing technology should become available as the Huawei Mate 90 series reaches more markets and additional testing is conducted.
