Samsung Galaxy S27 Series AMOLED Production Reportedly Begins With Four Models
Samsung is reportedly preparing AMOLED production for the Galaxy S27 series, with four models, higher panel shipment targets, and Privacy Display on the Pro and Ultra.
Samsung appears to be making steady progress toward the launch of its next flagship smartphone generation. After reports that the company has started mass production of the Exynos 2700 chipset for the upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup, a separate report from South Korea claims that Samsung Display is preparing to begin mass production of the AMOLED panels for the series this month.
The latest report also sheds more light on Samsung's expected Galaxy S27 lineup, including display sizes, production targets, and the company's plans for the new Galaxy S27 Pro model.
Four Galaxy S27 Models Expected
According to repeated rumors, Samsung is expected to introduce four smartphones as part of the Galaxy S27 family. The reported models and display sizes are:
- Galaxy S27: 6.27-inch display
- Galaxy S27+: 6.66-inch display
- Galaxy S27 Pro: 6.47-inch display
- Galaxy S27 Ultra: 6.89-inch display
The addition of the Galaxy S27 Pro would expand the lineup compared with the previous generation and could have a direct impact on Samsung Display's overall panel production requirements.

Samsung Display Targets Higher Panel Shipments
The reported addition of the Pro model is expected to increase Samsung Display's panel shipments for the Galaxy S27 series by around 10% compared with the Galaxy S26 family.
Samsung Display is reportedly targeting between 47 million and 48 million panels annually for the Galaxy S27 lineup. By comparison, production targets for the Galaxy S26 series were said to be in the low 40 million range.
The higher target would reflect Samsung's expectations for the expanded four-device lineup and the additional demand generated by the Galaxy S27 Pro.
Galaxy S27 Pro Panel Production Plans
Samsung is reportedly asking Samsung Display to deliver approximately 2 million to 3 million Galaxy S27 Pro panels this year, followed by another 4 million to 5 million units next year.
These production figures do not necessarily indicate that the Galaxy S27 smartphones will launch during 2026. Instead, the reported manufacturing schedule suggests that Samsung wants the displays prepared well ahead of the device assembly process.
Based on the current rumors, the four Galaxy S27 models are expected to enter assembly in early 2027, which would also make an early-2027 launch more likely.
Privacy Display Reportedly Expands to Two Models
Another feature that continues to appear in Galaxy S27 leaks is Samsung's Privacy Display technology.
The feature was reportedly introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and new reports once again claim that it will be included in both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Privacy Display is designed to limit the visibility of on-screen content from side viewing angles, providing users with greater visual privacy in public environments. However, the Galaxy S27 implementation and any improvements over the previous generation have not yet been officially detailed.
Galaxy S27 Series Production Remains Unconfirmed
The reported Exynos 2700 production and Samsung Display's alleged AMOLED manufacturing plans indicate that development of the Galaxy S27 series is moving forward, but Samsung has not officially confirmed these details.
For now, the four-model lineup, panel shipment targets, Galaxy S27 Pro production volumes, and Privacy Display expansion remain based on reports and rumors. More concrete information should emerge as Samsung approaches the expected Galaxy S27 launch period in early 2027.
