Samsung has begun distributing its One UI 9 update, built on Android 17, to the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold6, and the Galaxy Z Flip6\. The latest wave follows earlier releases to Samsung's newer flagships and brings the company a step closer to covering its recent premium lineup.

### The One UI 9 Rollout So Far

Samsung has staggered the release across several device generations:

- **Mid-September:** Galaxy S26 series
- **Late September:** Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7
- **Now:** Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6

One UI 9 first appeared on the Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Flip8 when they launched in July. Older flagships have therefore waited a few months, but the rollout is now well underway.

### One UI 9 Update Size for Galaxy S24, Z Fold6 and Z Flip6

The download size depends on whether your device took part in the One UI 9 beta program or is updating directly from One UI 8.5.

| Device | From beta program | From One UI 8.5 |
| -------------------------- | ----------------- | --------------- |
| Galaxy S24 series | \~500MB | \~3.8GB |
| Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 | \~408MB | \~3.5GB |

Since the full update is several gigabytes, connect to Wi-Fi and make sure the battery is well charged before installing.

### Availability: South Korea First, More Regions to Follow

As with earlier One UI 9 releases, Samsung is starting in its home market of South Korea. The update should reach more countries over the coming days and weeks, though the company hasn't announced a regional schedule. Timing can vary by country and carrier.

To check for the update, go to **Settings > Software update > Download and install** on your device.

### Summary

Samsung's One UI 9 and Android 17 rollout now includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, after reaching the S26, S25, Fold7 and Flip7 in September. Owners of these devices outside South Korea should expect the update to arrive in the near future.
