Samsung has reportedly started **mass production of its Exynos 2700 chipset**, marking an important step in the development of the upcoming **Galaxy S27 series**. According to a report from Korean publication *The Elec*, Samsung has also increased its production target for the new processor to accommodate the addition of another smartphone to its flagship lineup, the **Galaxy S27 Pro**.

The Exynos 2700 is expected to play a major role in Samsung's regional chipset strategy for the Galaxy S27 family, while the company is still deciding whether to use it in the highest-end Galaxy S27 Ultra.

## Exynos 2700 Production Target Increased for Galaxy S27

Samsung has reportedly set the Exynos 2700 production target at **more than 10% above the target established for the Exynos 2600**. The increase is believed to be directly related to the introduction of the new **Galaxy S27 Pro**, which will expand Samsung's flagship S-series lineup.

The Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro are reportedly expected to use the Exynos 2700 in **South Korea and Europe**. For customers in the **United States and China**, these models are expected to switch to Qualcomm's **Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6**.

## Galaxy S27 Ultra Chipset Decision Remains Open

Samsung has not yet made a final decision on the processor that will power the **Galaxy S27 Ultra**. Samsung System LSI, the division responsible for developing Exynos processors, reportedly wants the Exynos 2700 to make its way into the company's most premium smartphone.

Adopting the Exynos 2700 in an Ultra model would potentially improve System LSI's financial performance while also demonstrating that the new chipset can meet the demanding performance and efficiency requirements of an Ultra-class flagship.

However, **Samsung MX**, the division responsible for developing and manufacturing Galaxy smartphones, will make the final decision.

According to the report, Samsung is evaluating several factors, including **benchmark performance, thermal behavior, Qualcomm chipset pricing, and the production capacity available for the Exynos 2700**.

## Exynos 2700 Reportedly Beats Snapdragon in Multi-Core Testing

Previous reports have provided some encouraging results from Samsung's internal testing. The Exynos 2700 was reportedly found to outperform the **Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 by 9.5% in multi-core Geekbench testing**.

Despite that advantage in multi-core performance, Qualcomm's chipset reportedly maintains an advantage in **single-core performance**.

These figures come from internal testing rather than independent retail-device benchmarks, so the final performance comparison could differ once commercial smartphones become available.

## Samsung's Second-Generation 2nm GAA Technology

The Exynos 2700 is expected to be manufactured using Samsung's **SF2P process**, which represents the company's **second-generation 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology**.

Compared with the first-generation **SF2 node** used to manufacture the Exynos 2600, Samsung's SF2P process is reportedly designed to provide:

- **12% higher performance**
- **25% lower power consumption**
- **8% smaller chip area**

Beyond the manufacturing process improvements, the Exynos 2700 is also expected to introduce architectural upgrades. The chipset will reportedly use **Arm C2 CPU cores**, replacing the **C1 cores** found in the Exynos 2600.

## Exynos 2700 Production Timeline Matches Galaxy S27 Launch

A chipset typically requires several months to progress from mass production to inclusion in finished commercial devices. According to the report, the Exynos 2700 could take approximately **three to four months** to reach the final product stage after entering mass production.

That schedule aligns with expectations for the **Galaxy S27 series to launch in February or March**, giving Samsung sufficient time to manufacture, integrate, test, and prepare the new smartphones for release.

## What to Expect From Samsung's Galaxy S27 Chipset Strategy

The start of Exynos 2700 mass production suggests that Samsung is moving forward with its next-generation flagship processor. The company's regional strategy is reportedly set to continue, with Exynos powering the Galaxy S27, S27+, and S27 Pro in Korea and Europe, while Snapdragon is expected to serve the US and Chinese markets.

The biggest unresolved question is the **Galaxy S27 Ultra**. Samsung's final decision will depend on how the Exynos 2700 compares with Qualcomm's latest chipset in real-world performance, thermals, cost, and supply capacity as the Galaxy S27 launch approaches.
