HMD Aura 2 Pro Leak Reveals 90Hz Display, Helio G81 and 5,000mAh Battery

HMD appears to be preparing another addition to its Aura smartphone lineup. After introducing the HMD Aura in 2024 and the Aura 2 in 2025, the company is reportedly working on a new model called the HMD Aura 2 Pro.

According to a recent leak from a source known for sharing information about upcoming HMD devices, the Aura 2 Pro is currently in development and could arrive with a familiar set of entry-level specifications.

6.75-Inch 90Hz LCD Display

The leaked specifications suggest that the HMD Aura 2 Pro will feature a large 6.75-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate should provide smoother scrolling and animations compared with traditional 60Hz panels.

For photography, the smartphone is expected to feature a 50MP primary rear camera, accompanied by two additional sensors rated at 0.08MP and 2MP. On the front, the device will reportedly include a 5MP selfie camera.

MediaTek Helio G81 and Expandable Storage

Under the hood, the Aura 2 Pro is said to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. The processor will reportedly be paired with 4GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

The available storage is expected to be expandable, giving users the option to add additional capacity when needed.

Android 15 Go Edition and 5,000mAh Battery

On the software side, the leaked device is expected to run Android 15 Go Edition, Google's lightweight Android platform designed for smartphones with more modest hardware configurations.

Powering the phone will reportedly be a 5,000mAh battery, although charging speeds appear to be relatively limited, with support for 10W wired charging.

IP52 Rating and Side-Mounted Fingerprint Scanner

The HMD Aura 2 Pro is also expected to offer an IP52 rating, providing protection against dust and light exposure to rain. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is reportedly included for biometric authentication.

Other connectivity features are said to include Bluetooth 5.0, while the phone will reportedly be available in Meteor Black and Icy Blue color options.

HMD Aura 2 Pro Leak: What We Know So Far

Based on the leaked specifications, the Aura 2 Pro appears to be positioned as an affordable smartphone rather than a major performance upgrade. Its large 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery, expandable storage, and 50MP main camera could make it suitable for everyday use.

However, the specifications currently available do not reveal many obvious differences that would clearly distinguish the "Pro" model from a standard budget smartphone. Since these details come from a leak, the final specifications, pricing, and launch date could still change before HMD officially announces the device.
