Acemagic RX16 Gets a Major Performance Boost With Intel Panther Lake

Acemagic has quietly updated its RX16 16-inch laptop with a significantly newer Intel processor, replacing the older AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX platform. The refreshed model keeps much of the original design while introducing Intel’s latest Panther Lake architecture, a more capable integrated GPU, faster memory, and modern connectivity.

Intel Core Ultra X7 358H Powers the New RX16

The previous RX16 configuration relied on AMD’s Ryzen 9 6900HX, an eight-core Zen 3+ processor paired with Radeon 680M integrated graphics. The new model moves to Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H, delivering a substantial architectural and graphics upgrade.

The 16-core Panther Lake processor combines four performance cores (P-cores), eight efficiency cores (E-cores), and four low-power E-cores. It reaches boost speeds of up to 4.8 GHz and includes a dedicated NPU capable of 50 TOPS for AI workloads.

Graphics performance also receives a major upgrade through Intel’s Arc B390 integrated GPU. It features 12 Xe3 cores with clock speeds reaching up to 2.5 GHz and is rated for up to 122 TOPS of INT8 compute performance. The GPU also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, DirectX 12 Ultimate, and AV1 video encoding and decoding.

24 GB RAM and Expandable Storage

Acemagic equips the updated RX16 with 24 GB of LPDDR5-7467 memory and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The high-speed RAM should complement the new processor and integrated graphics, although the memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Storage offers considerably more flexibility. The laptop includes two M.2 2280 slots, supporting up to 4 TB of total storage. In addition, one of the slots supports a PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD, providing an upgrade path to significantly faster storage.

The RX16 retains its original 16-inch 16:10 display with a 1,920 × 1,200 resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Acemagic has also kept the laptop's 180-degree hinge, preserving the flexible design of the previous model.
